But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5)
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed (1 Peter 2:24)
The above scriptures testify to the will of God when it comes to divine healing. In fact, it is a written truth that all scriptures are inspired by God. If all scriptures are inspired by God, then it stands positive that the scriptures are the mind and desire of God for mankind. Good health and total healing has always been the will of God for people. God is a good God. God wants all people on the earth to enjoy of His goodness and His love. That is why He sent His Son Jesus Christ. He sent Christ to redeem man from the curse that had
come upon all creation because of sin.
3 THINGS THAT NEEDED REDEMPTION
When man became disconnected from His maker, sin began to reign on the earth over man. Because of sin; corruption, destruction, misery, poverty, sickness and death came upon God’s creation. Everything which God had created was originally good, but after sin came, everything became ultimately bad. The effects of sin was devastating in its totality. There were three things that sin corrupted and thus needed to be redeemed,
1) Relationship with God
SIN’S FIRST EFFECT – Man’s Relationship with God
The first thing sin affected was man’s relationship with God. God and Adam had a great and close relationship at the beginning. Adam was able to speak with God like a friend. As long as Adam walked in obedience to God, that relationship could not be affected. It was when Adam disobeyed God by violating His commandment not to eat from the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that the relationship was severed (Genesis 2:16‐17).
SIN’S SECOND EFFECT – Man began to die
The second thing that was affected because of sin was man himself. God said to Adam, that the day he would eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that he would sure die. The Hebrew word here for “die” is the word “Mut”, this word literally means worthy of death; or to begin to die prematurely. You see, man was supposed to live forever and in order for him to do that, he had to be continuously healthy. It was God’s will for Adam to be always healthy in order to live forever. Sin cut-‐off this opportunity.
God’s plan for Adam to live forever was interrupted and Adam began to die slowly. Why? Because his relationship with God was affected. Once this happened, the life supply of Adam was cut from him. God was that life supply.
SIN’S THIRD EFFECT – The earth became corrupted
The third thing that sin affected was the earth, the whole environment. Today, we seed uncontrollable volcanic eruptions, high-‐scaled earthquakes that destroy millions of dollars worth of property, and claim many thousands of lives all over the world. Things such as hurricanes, fires, floods and many other things are very real today. These are all effects because of the power of sin, which had entered the world, and because of this all three needed to be redeemed. Thank God for Jesus’ coming and paying the price with his own blood.
The bible declares that because of sin death entered into the world. There was an effect of sin, not only on the soul of man, but also on his physical body. Look at the following scripture:
(Romans 5:12, 15, 19) 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:....... 15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
So death came into the world through the sin of Adam. The Hebrew word “dead” that we read in verse 15 is apothnesko, which means death both physically and spiritually. So when sin came in, man was handed a sentence of death, to affect his body and destroy his spirit. We know that sickness is the precursor of death, so whenever a person is sick, death (apothnesko) is working in their body.
GOD WANTS YOU HEALED & HEALTHY
The scripture above declared that because of the offense (sin) of one man(Adam) many died; because of the grace of God, we have received a gift of life which is by one man Jesus Christ. Jesus came by the grace of God, died for our offenses (sin) on the cross, and through His resurrection, those that believe in Him as the ultimate sacrifice for their sins, have come into eternal life. This payment of the eternal debt opened and made available to all that believe the promises and power of God. One of those promises, which have come through Jesus Christ, is eternal life. Forgiveness of our sins and redemption from the curse of death is available to everyone that believes in Him. To have be given eternal life, is to come into the laws of the Kingdom of God. It is to have become a citizen of a Kingdom where there is no sickness, disease or death. To believe in Jesus Christ is to be a partaker of His divine nature. Look at what the bible says,
(2 Peter 1:4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
The punishment and death of Jesus Christ cancelled the effects of sin in the life of the believer, and it released to us divine healing and permanent health. Look at what the bible says,
(Isaiah 53:5) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Because of this, it is the will of God for you to be well, fit and healthy. It is the will of God to heal you if you are sick. God doesn’t want you full of pain and suffering. This is why He sent His Son Jesus Christ, to condemn and cancel sin and its effects in your life. The bible declares that by His(Jesus) stripes, you are healed. Remember, that Jesus died and was raised from the dead to give you eternal life. When Jesus was raised from the dead, the effect of sin was cancelled. This included death and sickness. Now that sin has been done away with, life and healing are yours. Know this for ever, GOD WANTS YOU HEALED!
